Magnetic Signs
How to Store Vinyl Magnetic Signs:
- When not using magnetic signs, keep in a clean dry place.
- Store magnetics on a flat surface to keep creases from developing.
- Always lay the magnetic signs vinyl side up.
Vehicle Magnetic Sign Surfaces:
- Before placing magnetic sheet on a metal surface, be sure all surface paints, clear coats, and waxes have hardened.
- Clean the surface and the magnetic sign with a mild detergent or cleaner.
- Wipe with a soft cloth and allow the magnetic sign and surface to dry thoroughly.
Applying Magnetic Signs:
- Apply magnetic signs to a smooth, flat metallic surface.
- If you place the magnetic sign in a wrong position, completely remove the magnet from the surface and reattach it.
- Do not pull the magnetic sign across the surface.
- Avoid use on horizontal surfaces exposed to direct sunlight or temperatures exceeding 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Be aware that long-term use of magnetic signs on surfaces exposed to sunlight can result in uneven fading of the surface, because the magnetic-covered area is shielded from the sun.
Cleaning Magnetic Signs:
- To guard against moisture and dirt buildup between the magnet and the metal surafce, remove the magnetic at regular intervals.
- Clean both the magnetic sign and the metal surface with mild detergent or cleaner.
- Wipe with a soft cloth or allow to air dry. For vehicle mounted magnetic signs, remove and clean weekly to ensure proper adhesion.
- To protect fresh clear coat, base coat and/or vinyl surfaces in new cars and trucks, remove magnetic signs daily.
